Protesters Want Easier Access To Jobs?

October 16th, 2011 Captain Clarity No comments

Rev. Al Sharpton Led a protest where protestors demanded “…easier access to jobs” as though jobs just “exist” and that these poor people are being kept from them. It’s really too bad that so few in America today understand the basics of economics, yet we now give college degrees in every politically correct issue there is.

Someone has to have a dream, an idea or a goal. They then have to pursue it against all odds. They usually have to work most of their life away, skipping weekends and vacations. They will work themselves right into the ground and skimp and save everything they can. Most end up having to get loans from banks or investors. Most of these ventures fail and the courageous lose everything. Then…they try again. Finally, a small percentage break through and hire more people to help them attain their goal. This is when and how jobs are created. Sometimes, these ventures go public, meaning that they get investment from Wall Street investors, and then many more jobs are created. Yet, these protestors are vilifying the very people who want to create jobs.

There is government, and there are the people. I am saddened to see these people railing against the people, when it is the government who writes the laws and regulations according to one thing and one thing only… campaign contributions. If protestors would wise up and realize that government is not the solution but the problem, then the people would win.

For generations now, education has been dominated by liberals and they have force-fed their beliefs on generations of kids, who in turn have grown up, become the new teachers and professors and continue the process.
For generations now, Hollywood, TV and Movies have been dominated by liberals and they have force-fed their beliefs on generations of people, who in turn have grown up, become the new stars and they continue the process.

For generations now, the mass-media been dominated by liberals and they have force-fed their beliefs on generations of readers and listeners, who in turn have grown up, become the new anchors and journalists and they continue the process.

For almost 60 years now the liberals have dominated our education, entertainment and media so that they have had complete and total control over the mush that goes into people’s heads. They have allowed no room for conservatives within their ranks. Coming out of the conservative closet has been career suicide.

This is the result. Please people, quit railing against those who want to create jobs and rail against the government who wants you dependent on government. Investors and successful people want to create even more wealth, which requires more investment and more employees. You have been dupped by the media, entertainment and especially your educators throughout your life. Look where it has gotten us. Let’s turn the tide the other way for once and protest against government and in support of the people, us, me and you.

PEOPLE ARE AWESOME

December 5th, 2010 Captain Clarity No comments

I came across the video entitled “People Are Awesome” and it left me speechless and breathless.  12,769,440 views on YouTube!  It contains clips of human exceptionalism like I have never seen in one quick video. These are clips of people achieving greatness while doing what they clearly love to do. Men, women, boys and girls of all ages and nationalities exceeding human expectations.  Even the first clip is a young man who does extreme sports in a wheelchair.  There is no government assistance, approval, support, endorsement of sanctioning of these spectacular displays, these are just PEOPLE who are willing to take a risk.

There is just too much going on in the world of politics today including the Wikileaks scandal, never-ending threats from North Korean, Iran and Venezuela, failing economies the world over and US Congress battling over…well, pretty much everything.  Then, I watched this video (with the accompanying music/lyrics) and was reminded again that greatness is always in THE PEOPLE.  Governments cause problems, crises discord and wars amongst people.  PEOPLE are what make make life amazing.

Many years ago, I was giving free sailboat rides at a boat show and I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful family from Russia.  There was a man, his wife and their lovely little girl. They were so polite and friendly.  As we sailed along on a beautiful day just enjoying a wide ranging discussion, we came to the realization that he served in the former Soviet Union’s Air Force at the same time that my father had served in the US Air Force. Government leaders would call on either of them to kill each other at the drop of a dime, yet we can all get along beautifully when left to our own choices.  People ARE Awesome; governments suck!

While watching this, I couldn’t help but realize that many of these things are illegal and are regularly stopped by government officials to protect us from ourselves.  The old man balancing on the chair would be hauled off in cuffs for “public endangerment” if he tried that in New York.  Think of the Frenchman they call Spiderman and how he gets arrested whenever he climbs to the top of a building using his bare hands. 12 people might gather in the woods to watch and film someone doing a huge jump on a bike, skis or just about anything and some park ranger will cite them for “a gathering of more than 10 people without a permit” or a “public performance without a permit.” Skateboarding is illegal in almost every town square.  When will we say enough is enough?

There was a time in which people were allowed to achieve greatness and were encouraged to do so, yet now, too many in society ask “is that allowed?”  For God’s sake, you can’t even buy a Happy Meal in San Francisco because their city council thinks it is too dangerous.  Some of the people in these videos had to try and try and muster up unbelievable amounts of courage to achieve what they did, they did not wait for permission or a handout.  Even those who demonstrated excellence without physical risk, still had to believe in personal achievement.  Seek ways in your life to achieve greatness or at least do something exceptional and don’t worry about whether or not the government agrees or supports it.
